Built for everyone

AccessibilityStatement

New Generation Home Improvements wants everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, voice control or magnification.

The standard we work to

We work to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. These guidelines are the accepted way to measure whether a website can be used by people with disabilities, and they support our commitment under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Accessibility is something we keep working on. If we find a barrier, or you report one, we fix it.

What we have done

Structure
Every page has a skip link, labelled landmarks, one main heading and headings in order, so screen reader users can move through the page quickly.
Keyboard
Menus, tabs, galleries, the photo viewer, the FAQ and every form control work with a keyboard. Focus is always visible.
Colour and contrast
Text and buttons use brand colours chosen to pass WCAG AA contrast. Colour is never the only way information is shown.
Touch and click targets
Buttons and links are at least 44 by 44 pixels.
Images and video
Photos have text descriptions. Decorative drawings are hidden from assistive technology. Video uses the browser’s own player controls.
Motion
Animations stop when your device asks for reduced motion, and you can turn motion off yourself in the display settings.
Testing
Every build runs automated accessibility checks on every page, and we check key pages by hand with a keyboard.

Display settings

You can change how this site looks for you: text size, contrast, a plainer typeface, underlined links and reduced motion. Your choices are saved on this device and apply to every page. These settings restyle the real pages. They do not replace the work of building the pages accessibly.

Known limitations

  • Blog posts and project pages were carried over from our earlier website. Some older photos may have short or missing descriptions. We are improving them as we go.
  • Some videos and links come from other services such as YouTube, Houzz and Instagram. We do not control the accessibility of those services.
  • Our capability statement is a PDF made from a web page. If it does not work for you, contact us and we will send it in another format.

Tell us if something does not work

If you have trouble using any part of this website, or need information in another format, please contact us. Tell us the page and what happened, and we will work on it.
